Easy Apple Pie Recipe
This Easy Apple Pie Recipe is the perfect “semi-homemade” dessert to make when you have little time, but you want to make a big impression.
I was looking in my refrigerator for something sweet to eat, and spotted a bag of apples and some store bought pie crusts. Well, this could only mean one thing…APPLE PIE RECIPE. Who cares if it’s just for me, and I eat it all myself? Not me.
Best Crust to use for Apple Pie Recipes?
I love to keep store bought Pillsbury Pie Crusts on hand. They are so versitile, and you can easily whip up something impressive in no time flat. You will need 2 pie crusts. I add one crust into my pie dish, and slice the other into strips about 11/2 in wide.
Best Filling for Pie
The recipe is perfect to make with store bought Apple Pie filling. But I also have a delicious Apple Pie Filling Recipe. All you need to do is add the filling to your bottom crust, and weave the pie crust strips on top of the filling.
Make sure the filling is room temperature. If your pie filling is too warm it will make your strips stretchy, and hard to weave.
How to make your Apple Pie the Best
I love to save some scraps from the pie crust dough, and make little shapes out of them. It makes the pie look even more special, and like you put in a lot of hard work. No one has to know it is store bought! 😉
I take a fork around the outside of the crust to seal all the edges. The last step it to brush some egg wash on top of the crust to make it extra golden. Now pop your Apple Pie into the oven at 350 degrees until the crust is nice and brown, and you are done!
