Best Thrift Shopping Tips
If you love thrifting, or are looking to get into thrift shopping, you have come to the right place. I get the majority of my home décor and clothing thrifted, and I am absolutely obsessed. Keep reading below to find out my Best Thrift Shopping Tips.
New Thrift Shopping Gems
My nearest thrift gets tons of NEW stuff, especially from Target Stores. I don’t know if stores donate these items, or how it works, but a lot of times there will be multiple size options on new items. So keep on the look out for new items when you are thrifting.
Thrift Shopping Sizes
When thrifting most things have already been washed, and may have stretched out or gotten smaller in the wash. I recommend to venture out of your “normal” size. Not everything at the thrift store is true to size. I literally own anywhere from XS to 2XL. I know some people are weird about this, but I recommend trying the clothes on.
Thrift Store Tags
This may be my most genius tip. Leave the little plastic tags on the clothes you buy, and throw them straight in the wash. Then you can try on nice clean clothes, and if they don’t fit, take them back. Which leads to my next tip.
Thrift Stores Accept Returns
Keep in mind that a lot of thrift stores accept returns. So be sure to ask your cashier if your items are returnable. Buy a pile of clothes, and wait until you get home to try them on. Then just bring back what you don’t like.
Be Patient When at the Thrift Shopping
It takes time, and some digging to find the hidden gems, especially when you are looking for clothes. You really have to be in the mood to take your time, and go through the items one by one so you don’t miss anything. When I go to the thrift shopping I know it’s going to take me a while, so I make sure everyone knows to leave. me. alone.
