This easy Chocolate Gravy Casserole has all the flavors of classic cocoa gravy packed into one yummy dish. If you love chocolate, then you have to give these chocolate stuffed biscuits a try. This easy recipe is made with a homemade chocolate filling and topping. Keep reading below to find out how I make my Chocolate Gravy Casserole.

What is Chocolate Gravy made of?

Chocolate Gravy is a traditional breakfast or sweet treat made with cocoa powder, butter, sugar, and milk. This makes the most delicious chocolatey sauce that you can add to so many dishes. Heck, I can eat it all by itself, by the spoonful. It’s that good.

What makes this a Casserole?

I love to make chocolate hand pies by stuffing a homemade chocolate filling into a canned biscuit. These are so good and so easy. I also love to use the canned biscuits with the little pieces of butter in them, but any canned biscuit work wonderfully.

I was making hand pies one night and realized I had made too much filling. So, I added milk to my leftover filling to create a gravy, placed my stuffed hand pies close together in a casserole dish. Then once the hand pies are cooked, you pour the gravy over the top. Making a perfectly sweet casserole.

Is Chocolate Gravy a Breakfast food?

In my family, chocolate gravy is a breakfast treat that we have on special occasions. I could eat gravy anytime, anywhere. If you ask my husband what my favorite food is he will say gravy, of any kind.

I love to have this gravy for breakfast, but I also love to serve it as a dessert, or sweet treat. This casserole makes for the perfect chocolatey dessert.
