What makes jam thick?
When berries, apples, and other fruit cook they release pectin, which is a natural thickener. The longer they cook, the thicker the jam will get. If your jam starts to get too thick, you can thin it out with a splash or two of water.
What flavors pair well with Cranberry Jam?
Some of my favorite ways to kick up my jam is to add flavorings and spices. Cinnamon pairs so perfectly with cranberries, especially for the holidays.
I also love to add a splash of citrus. My favorite to use is lemon juice, but orange also pairs so well with cranberries. Vanilla flavoring is another great addition to jams and jellies.
What is Cranberry Jam made of?
I am telling you, this is one of the easiest jams, and it tastes so amazing. All you need to make it is cranberries, sugar, water, lemon juice, and your favorite flavorings and spices.
