Homemade Mac and Cheese
This Homemade Mac and Cheese is warm and creamy and oh so cheesy. No need to use the box stuff when this is so easy and twice and delicious. Keep reading below to find out how I make my Easy Homemade Mac and Cheese with Velveeta.
What are the best cheeses for Macaroni and Cheese?
The Best Cheese to use is one that will melt beautifully. You can add any of your favorite cheeses, but there is something about Velveeta that makes the best Mac and Cheese.
I love how smooth the Velveeta makes any cheesy dish. In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much cheese, so feel free to add any cheese you like. Especially if you like a good string of cheese in your dish. But I think the base starts with Velveeta.
How can I make Mac & Cheese taste better?
You can always use spices to give your Mac and Cheese a kick, but I think a good pasta dish doesn’t need anything but the basics to make it wonderful.
The main thing I love to add that really gives it a much richer flavor is evaporated milk. Evaporated milk absolutely takes any dish to the next level, and also adds creaminess to the texture.
Do you add butter to Mac and Cheese?
You can make Mac and Cheese without butter, but butter will add a richness. Butter will also keep your noodles from sticking together.
I like to drain my pasta, and then add in the butter directly to ensure that your noodles have a good coating on them. This will make for a much nicer texture.
How do you keep Macaroni & Cheese Creamy?
The most important part of a good Mac and Cheese is the texture. Keeping it creamy is the key. No one wants a thick clumpy noodles.
If you find your noodles are starting to get too thick, thin it out with milk. Make sure to heat up the milk or add in the milk while it is still on the burner. This will keep your cheese from getting too solid.
