Homemade Strawberry Sauce

Easy Homemade Strawberry Sauce is the perfect sweet topping. This quick and easy recipe uses fresh strawberries, and is one of my favorite easy ways to make a quick topping that pairs so well with all kinds of dishes. Keep reading below to find out how I make my Easy Homemade Strawberry Sauce.

What makes fruit sauces thick?

When berries, apples, and other fruit cook they release pectin, which is a natural thickener. The longer your strawberries cook, the thicker the sauce will get. If your sauce starts to get too thick, you can thin it out with a splash or two of water.

What adds flavor to Strawberry Sauce?

Some of my favorite ways to flavor strawberries for a sauce is to add plenty of sweetener, of course. I also love to add a slash of citrus. My favorite citrus to use is lemon juice. Vanilla flavoring is another great addition to strawberries.
