This Easy Homemade Pasta Sauce Recipe is so simple and delicious you will be mad that you ever bought sauce in a jar. Made with fresh cherry tomatoes this is the perfect recipe to help you use up some of those garden tomatoes. This would also be a great recipe for canning.
My husband and I always plant a ton of tomatoes, but this year we went for an all time high of 100 tomato plants in our garden. We love cooked tomatoes for their juice, but we hate to eat them raw. Shocking…I know. I am always trying to come up with new ways to use our garden veggies. This Easy Homemade Pasta Sauce Recipe is one of my favorite ways to use up my baby tomatoes.
We try to plant large tomatoes for juice, but somehow this year we manage to end up with quite a few cherry tomato plants. I don’t like to juice the teeny tiny ones. Instead I will usually roast them up, and add them to my main dish, or a pasta salad. But if I have a ton of small ones to use up, I love to make a good sauce.
How to Make Homemade Pasta Sauce Recipe
Those tiny cherry tomatoes have some of the best flavor. I honestly like them better than the big guys. They are so sweet, and make for the perfect Pasta Sauce. First, I roast them up in the oven with some oil and garlic. This gets them nice and juicy, and the smell of the garlic will have your house smelling amazing.
Next, I pop them in a blender, add my favorite spices, and give them a quick pulse. I like my sauce a little on the chunky side. The longer you blend it, the smoother your sauce will be. And it is as easy as that. I am telling you, this is one of those recipes you can use to impress. Homemade Pasta Sauce…doesn’t that just sound fancy? And no one will ever guess it took you like 5 seconds. Well maybe a few more than that, but you get the picture.
