Plum Ice Cream Sundae
A Plum Ice Cream Sundae is the perfect sweet treat. This quick and easy recipe uses fresh plums, and is one of my favorite ways to make a sweet ice-cream sundae. Keep reading below to find out how I make my Homemade Plum Sundae.
What makes Homemade Plum Ice Cream Topping thick?
When berries, apples, and other fruit cook they release pectin, which is a natural thickener. The longer your plums cook, the thicker the sauce will get. If your sauce starts to get too thick, you can thin it out with a splash or two of water.
Homemade Plum Ice Cream Sundae Ingredients
I am telling you, this is one of my favorite homemade sundaes, and it tastes so amazing. All you need to make the topping is fresh plums, sugar, water, and lemon juice. Then add that over top of your favorite vanilla ice-cream.
I love to add a slash of citrus to balance out the sweet plums. My favorite to use is lemon juice, but orange also pairs so well with plums. Vanilla flavoring is another great addition to plum topping.
