Spaghetti Pasta Salad

What are the Best Noodles for Pasta Salad?

There are so many noodle ideas for pasta, but my favorite pasta to use it whatever pasta I have on hand. Any noodles work perfectly in this recipe.

This recipe made angel hair pasta and spaghetti noodles is the perfect way to switch up the classic pasta salad. I think it may actually be my favorite.

Is it better to make Spaghetti Pasta Salad the day before?

The best part about pasta salad is it always tastes better the next day. I like to make my pasta dish the night before, so it has all night to sit and marinate. It also tastes better when it is cold so make sure to serve it right out of the fridge.

What are the best veggies for a Spaghetti Pasta Salad?

The best veggies are ones that can hold their crunch and texture, especially if you are going to make it the day ahead. I love to add carrots, bell pepper, cucumbers, tomatoes and onion.

This salad is one of those dishes that you can really make your own. So, add whatever veggies you like best. My favorite veggies to add to pasta salad is cucumbers.

For this spaghetti pasta salad, I used a veggie peeler to slice my veggies in long skinny slices to make them similar to the noodles. You do not have to do this, but it is such a fun twist.

Salad Tip for Picky Eaters

My family is full of picky eaters, and this is the perfect dish for that. My biggest tip for picky eaters is to use a food processor to make your veggies super small.

The pickiest of eaters won’t even realize you pack your pasta salad full of yummy veggies if you chop them into tiny pieces.

Spaghetti Pasta Salad

Italian Spaghetti Pasta Salad

  • 1 lb Pasta
  • 1/2 cup Italian Dressing
  • 1/3 cup Catalina Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber
  • 1/3 cup Carrots
  • 1 Lemon
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  1. Cook pasta in large pot until tender. Drain water, rinse with cold water, and cool pasta noodles.

  2. Dice veggies to your desired size. You can use whatever veggies you like. Tomatoes and Onion are also a great option. **I use a veggie peeler to slice vegetables in long strands.

  3. In large bowl mix pasta, veggies, Italian dressing, Catalina dressing, juice of lemon, parmesan, salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Put into the refrigerator to chill. Serve topped with parmesan, a drizzle of Catalina dressing, and pepper.

  5. Serve cold and Enjoy!
