Squash Fries

Squash Fries are the perfect easy recipe to use up some of that extra garden squash. My favorite way to cook my squash is in the Air Fryer, and these Squash Fries are no exception. They cook up super fast, and are so crisp and yummy.

I am always trying to come up with new ways to use my fresh garden squash. If you have ever planted squash, you know they really produce an abundance of fruit. And before you know it, you are overwhelmed with squash, and have ran out of ways to cook it.

Squash Fries???

So I already know I love the taste of Squash cooked in the air fryer. My other favorite go-to Squash Recipe is Garlic Parmesan Air Fryer Summer Squash. And French Fries are one of my guilty pleasure foods. And I got to thinking… Why can’t I turn Squash into Fries? Well turns out, you can! And man are they addicting. I have a batch cooking at this very moment. So let me tell you how I like to make them.

I prefer to use a medium sized squash with a good amount of meat to it. Wash your squash, but be sure to leave on the skin. Then slice around the middle, and try to remove a majority of the soft middle, and the bulk of the seeds. This will leave you with the square shaped center where most of the seeds are, which I do not use. Next, I cut my squash into thin wedges similar to how I would make homemade French fries.

The thinner pieces of squash are my personal favorite because I like mine extra crispy. But you can cut them into larger pieces if you prefer. Then I toss them in oil, and season them up with some garlic and onion powder. All that is left to do is pop them into your air fryer, and cook them until they are golden brown. Or you can cook them extra brown if you like things slightly burnt like me ; )

Hopefully these Squash Fries are the perfect way to use up your bounty of Garden Squash. And once you have had all the Squash you can eat, make sure to check out how I store my Squash so you can eat them all winter long.
